HISTORY OF THE FRENCH BULLDOG RESCUE LEAGUE During the mid 1980s, the French Bulldog Club of America developed their own Frenchie rescue. A group of dedicated fanciers gathered information, researched rescue programs, and designed forms. Three years of hard work and they were setting up an organizational structure that was sanctioned by the French Bulldog Club of America. As rescues grew for most breeds, funding became more and more important. Frenchies were no exception. It was recognized by several breed clubs that if rescue organizations could become its own tax exempt, non profit corporation, it could offer their contributors a tax exemption for their donations. When it was determined that our rescue program would qualify for the tax exemption status, the French Bulldog Club of America hired an attorney to help them incorporate. In 2002, French Bulldog Rescue became it’s own entity and the French Bulldog Club of America Rescue League, Inc. was born. In 2006 the name of the organization was shortened to the French Bulldog Rescue League. We continue to provide for the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of French Bulldogs. Helping Frenchies that are abandoned, mistreated, injured, or otherwise in need of special care, wherever and whenever we can. The French Bulldog Rescue League, Inc. has been fortunate to have supporters that are diligent, experienced, and devoted. Over the years, people have dedicated their time to develop, improve and maintain our effort to help Frenchies in need. Approximately 1000 dogs have been rescued through our group since the mid 80s. Our Rescue Reps are devoted and tireless. They never turn away from a dog in need. We thank them all--past, present and future.
